Know your market.
This is often one of the most difficult concepts for many coaches and consultants, as well as many small business owners– who is your market?
Your market consists of motivated people who are a good match between what you bring to the table- your products and services and the problems they have that your products solve.
So how do you find this match?
Start with yourself first. Look at your strong points, your experience, your education. What kinds of problems and challenges can you address with your personality, knowledge and experience?
Now think about the types of people you enjoy spending time with, and see if your knowledge and experience can solve some of the challenges that they have. Identify which problems you can acutally help solve. Make sure that they're motivated to buy solutions.
Now add a unique or better thing about how you solve their problem.
And lastly, find a way to reach them consistently. Talk to them about their problems, about solving them, give them lots of free and valuable information, and give them lots of opportunities to purchase your products and services.
